White wall cleaning

The construct itself is a steel or aluminium "sandwich" around a centre of polyurethane foam; to give it its protective qualities, it is coated with a laminate of PVC or polyester. It is manufactured as single sheets, which are cut to size during construction, and after production it is protected with removable plastic sheeting. The removal of the plastic sheeting in a dusty atmosphere results in the rapid accumulation of dust onto the walling, due to the static cling set up between the plastic sheeting and the laminate. The walling is waterproof and is readily resistant to acids and alkalis, including extreme examples of each. It is almost stain - proof, so that food staining will not affect it, but stains of a petroleum - based nature or solvents will mark it to some degree. Hence diesel and oil deposits will be easily seen, and will penetrate the laminate, especially if it is PVC based.

If the walling is being erected in a dusty atmosphere, then cleaning is recommended, before machinery installation or commissioning, and certainly before temperature drop - down below -4c, If the walling is a refrigeration or freezer unit then, providing there are no obvious stains or deposits, it may even be unnecessary to clean until the unit is brought down for periodic cleaning and maintenance. Unless there is adequate drainage, too much water becomes a hazard since in these units drying is always too prolonged.
