Escalator cleaning and restoration
This is a very different and we may say difficult, area for cleaning. Most escalators, in our experience are only partially cleaned, and unless these areas are thoroughly cleaned the whole structure looks a mess. In fact we have seen only one escalator cleaned properly in all the time we have been looking at them. The glass is usually cleaned but very little else is. We have seen them gummed up solid with chewing gum, black with oil and street dirt but mostly battered. They do clean up and can be restored. In this manual we give you techniques to bring an escalator up to clean and brightness. It was sufficient to remove 23 years of street muck off at least one.
A cleaned and restored escalator becomes easy to maintain and looks better than a filthy manky one which no-one wants to do anything with, and as the years pass, no-one can do anything with.
