If you are looking for some ideas, help or information on hospital cleaning, or cleaning clinics, or any similar health related areas, please read the following in its entirety: then contact us straight away.
MRSA, E.coli, Clostridium dificile, Legionnaires disease are always in the news and are being linked to poor cleaning in hospitals, though it’s also as much about infection control in hospitals. The two are inextricably linked. The problem is that cleaning is not just a case of cleaning with a mop and bucket, but having a whole area cleaning system linked to good hygiene practices. It is not a case of using that cheap cleaning company from down the road with experience in cleaning offices and houses. It is also not a case of using and then blaming direct labour for hygiene failures, and therefore infection breakouts. Hospitals, clinics and health care centres need a specific system of cleaning which should correlate to food industry methods. How many outbreaks of food poisoning are there from food processing, given the vast amount of food, cooked or raw, which is handled or processed per year? In food factories the hygiene and cleaning regime is so strict that a hospital patient would still feel very clean indeed if they ate their dinner off the floor. There are more cases of e.coli infection from domestic pot washing than there are from any food factory.
Within hospitals, the knowledge of cleaning is sadly lacking. Cleaning systems currently being undertaken in hospitals are out of date, almost completely ineffective and need action to make them effective by changing the culture to one in which cleanliness can thrive. If it were not so then why is there a high level campaign to do something about it? Is it succeeding? We seriously doubt it. Reading so many articles and looking at so many high level conferences just serve to confirm the need for someone to produce the answers. Where are the answers?
Well, they are here.
