These are only a very small selection of case studies, for demonstration purposes only. All cases are genuine but in line with our strict policy on non-disclosure we always never reveal the name of a customer. All the systems we develop are often unique to that particular contract because we find that most contracts are unique in one way or another. Our systems are always designed to work around your problems and the problems we find (not the same thing by any means) and by removing all the problems you have you will be a very happy customer of ours with a guaranteed workable, real life solution.
Read the case studies to see just how we solved some really difficult problems:
CASE STUDY 4
Many of our cleaning systems have been developed from the food industry where efficiency of cleaning is critical. We have regularly got factories through external hygiene audits and have trained many to keep to the cleaning systems we have given them. One or two have been beyond the usual:
PROBLEM: we were asked to work out a cleaning system for white wall construction and flooring at low temperature in a bakery after the initial construction and during temperature drop down. Below freezing point, problems set in, not least because of the amount of water used in the cleaning solution. The floor cleaning machines will clean but need to be de wetted before use. Materials such as white walling can only be cleaned with an aqueous solution and we were asked by a manufacturer of this how to clean it.
SOLUTION: this one was difficult. We worked with a detergent manufacturer to trial a floor cleaner which we used at -28c to clean the floors and it worked well. We had to find a way of cleaning the white walling as quickly as we could before everything froze, and this we did, devising a low temperature cleaning system, allowing it to freeze on the walls and then removing it as a solid. We achieved what we set out to do and the customer was pleased with the results.
PROBLEM 2: we were asked to work out a way of cleaning white wall construction at below ambient but the water level had to be almost minimal. This is a different system from that previously described although similar in many ways. This place was full of chilled produce where drips would be damaging.
SOLUTION: the customer was pleased with the result since they had not believed it possible that this level of cleaning could be achieved without a pressure washer and they would otherwise have had to remove very large quantities of product to clean and leave it out of store while the area dried which was out of the question for chilled product. The level of cleaning was to high risk, the humidity levels were as low as possible and the product remained in situ.
PROBLEM 3: we were asked to restore 100,000 sq.ft. of white walling and the flooring due to a change of process. Most of the walling and all of the flooring was covered in a thick layer of vegetable soils and debris and the dirt of 12 years and no-one could work out how it could be cleaned.
SOLUTION: the cleaning system we devised worked well to take it to above medium risk standard. Then we found another problem which no-one had considered water scale. This factory was in a very hard water area and this became readily apparent after the main soiling was removed. The scale in vegetable processing plants is difficult to remove because it is high in oxalates which make it harder and this means that extra care needs to be taken with the treatment. We removed the scale to finish the job to perfection and trained the people in the factory in regular de scaling treatments as well as giving them a full cleaning schedule to use. We left a very satisfied customer who wanted us to take over all the cleaning in the factory.
But our knowledge and experience is far wider than the case studies would show:
There is no cleaning problem anywhere, we can’t solve and here’s the reason why:
All our solutions come from:
- A detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements and their interpretation
- Thorough knowledge of detergent chemistry and surface materials including coatings, being used in any situation
- Detailed knowledge of surface soiling and its removal and disposal
- Practical experience of developing and using lean process, quality management systems and kaizen applications within a cleaning system
- Waste disposal management methods and treatments and their impact on the environment
But our experience is far wider than the case studies would show
- Foundries and industrial shop floors and machinery restoration
- Boilers, tank cleaning and confined space work
- Process plant and critical cleaning, cleaning to high risk standards
- Retail and domestic
- Janitorial and office
- Construction (and construction in food industry)
- Food industry
- Hospitality industry
- Computer and clean rooms
- Marine
- Antique surfaces and delicate surface cleaning and restoration methods
