These can be the most lucrative type of cleaning contracts, but equally can be the most demanding. It can range from small little jobs taking up a couple of hours to a major restoration project involving weeks. If you are good at this type of cleaning then there is no shortage of work. You do however have to know what you are doing, because your chances of damaging surfaces are great and your chances of job failure are very high, especially on a big construction site. Into this category falls all the really difficult and specialist cleaning contracts - that is why it is so lucrative. The downside is that you are getting other people out of a mess - the builders - in more ways than one, and you are also directly answerable to THEIR clients. This book does not cover hygiene cleaning although you will be shown the basics. Hygiene cleaning is specialist and is treated elsewhere. If you want to or are contracted to clean a kitchen, restaurant, food preparation area anywhere the information should cover most of what you will need to know. There is a specialism about hygiene cleaning which is applicable to food factories and similar but which can also be applied to the high risk areas in hospitals and doctors and vets. Surgeries, but also clean rooms in computer areas. It is unlikely you will need to apply this level of specialism in a general, run of the mill, builders clean but the depth of cleaning may be almost identical, as you will find out. Do not expect to be successful at these contracts unless you are prepared to devote time to thoroughness and care.
